How to record test data with the app
A useful guide for recording data with the ClearWatt app
Test data can be recorded through either driving the vehicle or charging the vehicle. To record charging data, you must have a home charger connected to ClearWatt. To complete a ClearWatt test, record a combination of 3 drives or charges. See the full requirements for testing below.
Recording Drives
- Each drive recorded must use at least 10% of your vehicle's battery.
- Drives cannot contain stops, pauses or breaks (except for stopping at traffic lights).
- If your vehicle is connected to ClearWatt:
- Ensure you've turned on background GPS and enabled fitness permissions. We'll record all of your journeys automatically in the background.
- Eligible drives can take up to 12 hours to show within the app.
Recording Charges
- Each charge recorded must add at least 30% of vehicle's battery.
- You must not unplug your charger during the session.
- Ensure you capture a picture of the car's battery level at the start and end of each charging session.
