App permissions

To test with ClearWatt customers must grant the correct in-app permissions. 

Testing EV battery health with ClearWatt requires certain in-app permissions to help us record the necessary data.

For iOS we require the following in-app permissions

  1. Access to your phone's camera
  2. Access to your phone's GPS:
    1. If using ClearWatt Connected, we need "always allow" location permissions
    2. If manually recording drives with the app, we only need "whilst using the app"
  3. If using ClearWatt Connected, access to activity and fitness
  4. Optionally, push notifications so we can provide you with test prompts and feedback

For Android we require the following in-app permissions

  1. Access to your phone's camera
  2. Access to your phone's GPS:
    1. If using ClearWatt Connected, we need "always allow" location permissions
    2. If manually recording drives with the app, we only need "whilst using the app"
  3. If using ClearWatt Connected, access to activity and fitness
  4. We need you to turn energy/ power optimisation off for our app. This ensure we can run our services in the background with disruption
  5. Optionally, push notifications so we can provide you with test prompts and feedback
